The Osun State Police Command and eyewitnesses have debunked rumors of a bandit attack on the Iwo-Osogbo road, attributing the scare to a minor motor accident and subsequent misunderstanding.
According to sources, a vehicle struck another from behind and fled the scene, with the driver raising a false alarm claiming they were being pursued by potential kidnappers. This led to a response from nearby residents and the police, who deployed additional officers to ensure safety.
Investigations have revealed that no Fulani herders or bandits were involved, and no attack, kidnapping, or attempt occurred. Individuals connected to the incident are currently with the police for further investigation.
The public is urged to verify information before sharing to prevent the spread of misinformation.
