NURTW Chairman, Germani Shot Dead in Olomilagbala, Ilesa... Police Hunt Killers

The chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) Unit 4 in Ilesa, Adeboye Ademoroti – popularly known as “Germani” – was shot dead by unidentified gunmen in the Olomilagbala area of the city on Tuesday evening.

According to security sources who spoke on condition of anonymity, Ademoroti and another person were attacked late Tuesday night; both were taken to a local hospital with gunshot wounds.

The Osun Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, Abiodun Ojelabi, confirmed that a doctor at the hospital reported the incident to police and stated that one of the victims, later identified as Ademoroti, was already dead on arrival.

Police recovered spent cartridges at the scene and have launched an investigation, but no arrests have been made. A tactical team has been deployed to the area while inquiries continue to determine the motive behind the killing.

The police have urged anyone with information to come forward as investigations proceed.
