The Owa Obokun Adimula and Paramount Ruler of Ijesaland, Owa Clement Adesuyi Haastrup, has directed the suspension of the panel on conduct, chieftaincy matters, and land disputes to allow for its reconstitution. The move aims to make the panel more inclusive and representative of all six local governments in Ijesaland, according to a statement by Prince Isaac Haastrup, a media aide to the Owa Obokun, released on Saturday.
The decision is part of Owa Haastrup's efforts to promote unity and cohesion among the people of Ijesaland. The reconstituted panel will include representatives from all traditional councils in the area, fostering a sense of belonging among them. The paramount ruler has reviewed the activities of the current seven-man panel and expressed satisfaction with its thoroughness, independence, and pursuit of truth, but deemed it necessary to broaden its representation.
The statement thanked the panel members for their dedication and directed them to suspend their activities pending reconstitution. The Owa Obokun also appreciated the support of traditional rulers, chiefs, and the people of Ijesaland, urging them to collaborate in promoting unity, peace, and prosperity in the region.
