Anthony Joshua Involved in Road Accident on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway

World-renowned heavyweight boxer, Anthony Joshua, was on Tuesday involved in a road accident at Makun area of Ogun State, along the busy Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

Eyewitness accounts indicate that the incident occurred near Danco Filling Station, where the vehicle conveying the boxer — a Lexus SUV with registration number KRD 850 HN — reportedly collided with a stationary truck. The exact cause of the crash is yet to be officially determined.

According to information from the rescue operation at the scene, Anthony Joshua sustained minor injuries, while two occupants reportedly died on the spot. Emergency responders were said to have acted swiftly to manage the situation and provide immediate assistance.

An eyewitness, Adeniyi Orojo, confirmed that the accident happened shortly before the Danco Filling Station axis of the expressway, a location known for heavy vehicular movement.

Following the incident, fans and well-wishers have taken to social media, expressing concern and offering prayers for the boxing champion’s safety and recovery.

Efforts to obtain official confirmation and further details from the TRACE Commandant, Akinbiyi Babatunde, were unsuccessful as calls placed to his line did not connect as of the time of filing this report.

Authorities have commenced investigations into the circumstances surrounding the crash, while more updates on Anthony Joshua’s condition are expected shortly.
