The Iwude Ijesa Cultural Heritage Day and Beauty Pageant 2025 took place on Friday at the Oba Adekunle Aromolaran Civic Centre, Ilesa, with grandeur and cultural splendor. The event, graced by His Imperial Majesty Owa (Dr.) Clement Adesuyi Haastrup, Ajimoko III, Owa Obokun Adimula and Paramount Ruler of Ijesaland, marked a significant milestone as the first since his ascension to the throne.
The day began with the official commissioning of the Owa Ajimoko Multipurpose Building at the Iwude Ijesa Secretariat, Oke Imese, activities thereafter proceeded to the Cultural Day and Beauty Pageant program at the Aromolaran Civic Center, beside the Owa Obokun Palace.
The Cultural Heritage Day featured vibrant cultural displays and traditional cuisine. As part of the celebrations, the beauty pageant—organized by the Iwude Ijesa Planning Committee under the chairmanship of Chief Afolabi Igbaroola—paid homage to the Paramount Ruler of Ijesaland, Owa Clement Adesuyi Haastrup Ajimoko III, at the Adimula Palace. The event showcased talented contestants, with Adesoyin Judith Oyinade emerging as Miss Iwude Ìjẹ̀ṣà 2025 and winning a ₦1 million prize, while Oladipupo Stella Oluwaferanmi and Falode Olaronke Felicia placed first and second runners-up, respectively.
The Cultural Heritage Day attracted visitors from across the region. The Iwude Ijesa Festival stands as one of the most significant cultural and historical celebrations of the Ijesa people, preserving history, strengthening social cohesion, and promoting cultural consciousness.
