The Castle of Comfort, residence of Sir Yemi and Lady Comfort Oguntominiyi, came alive with colour, music and warm social interactions on Saturday, December 27, 2025, as invited guests gathered for the reception marking the couple’s End-of-the-Year Thanksgiving celebration.
Although this correspondent arrived after the thanksgiving service earlier held at the chapel within the expansive premises, the atmosphere at the reception, which commenced around 2:00 pm, vividly reflected the spirit of gratitude, joy and fulfillment that defined the day.
Located on Comfort Oguntominiyi Street, along Bishop’s Court in the Coca-Cola area off Ijebu-Jesa Road, Ilesa, the Castle of Comfort played host to an array of distinguished personalities from different walks of life. The reception quickly turned into a mini-reunion of the elitist class, as many of the guests had not seen one another since the previous year’s edition of the thanksgiving. Handshakes, warm embraces, laughter, and animated conversations filled the air, underscoring the significance of the gathering as not just a celebration, but a social reconnection.
The musical atmosphere was expertly set by the Ultimate Band, which manned the music stand throughout the reception. Their rich blend of highlife, juju and contemporary tunes provided a lively soundtrack that kept the event bubbling with energy. The band’s performance drew appreciative nods from guests and repeatedly pulled people from their seats to the dance floor.
One of the most captivating moments of the afternoon was the spontaneous and melodious dance display by the ladies’ folk. Gracefully dressed and visibly in high spirits, they moved rhythmically to the music of the Ultimate Band, creating a colourful and fascinating spectacle. Their coordinated steps, smiles and joyful expressions turned the dance floor into a scene many guests paused to watch, applaud and capture on camera—truly an interesting sight to behold.
Throughout the reception, guests were lavishly entertained with refreshments and light conversations, as the hosts moved round to exchange pleasantries and express appreciation for the support, friendship and goodwill enjoyed throughout the year.
The event, well-attended and tastefully organised, stood as a fitting conclusion to the year for Sir Yemi and Lady Comfort Oguntominiyi, blending thanksgiving, fellowship, music and social bonding in a relaxed and celebratory atmosphere.
This report is supported with photographs taken at the event, capturing key moments of joy, reunion, dance and elegance that defined the End-of-Year Thanksgiving reception at the Castle of Comfort.
