Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) across Osun East Senatorial District have intensified consultations and mobilisation efforts ahead of the 2026 governorship election and the 2027 general elections, rallying support for the Director General of the Osun East Governorship Campaign Committee, Prince Thomas Olaleye Ogungbangbe.
Prince Ogungbangbe, who is also an aspirant for the Osun East Senatorial seat, recently held a strategic meeting with women leaders, youth leaders, and ward secretaries from across the senatorial district to discuss plans for electoral victory for the APC.
Addressing party members during the meeting, Ogungbangbe expressed confidence in the voting strength of Osun East, stating that the district possesses the political capacity to determine the outcome of the forthcoming governorship election if members remain united and committed at the grassroots level.
He disclosed that plans are underway to appoint dedicated mobilisers across polling units to strengthen the party’s structure and improve voter mobilisation ahead of the election.
The APC chieftain also used the opportunity to seek support for his senatorial ambition ahead of the forthcoming party primary election. According to him, his years of loyalty, service, and commitment to the APC have adequately prepared him to secure victory for the party in the 2027 general election.
Ogungbangbe further promised to prioritise youth and women empowerment programmes across Osun East if elected into the Senate.
Speaking on behalf of the women leaders, Mrs Roseline Adeoye, Mrs Tanimola Arowowaseun, and Mrs Oladepo Kehinde endorsed his ambition and offered prayers for his success in the coming elections.
Youth representatives at the meeting, including Lukmon Afolabi, Olaniyan Musiliu, Oke Opeyemi, Olasode Oladimeji, Aderigbigbe Folorunsho, Ajani Waidi, Aliyu Sakibi, Abisoye Kolusade, and Comrade Arayemi Habeeb, also pledged their support for Ogungbangbe’s aspiration while rejecting any form of candidate imposition ahead of the APC primary election.
Other dignitaries present at the gathering included Hon. Ade Ademola, Hon. Wale Awe, Hon. Ogunsina aka Omo Olope, Mrs Rachael Fatunsi, Mrs Oyeniyi, Hon. Obisesan Olasunkanmi, Hon. Saheed Busari, and Hon. Adeyemi Jimoh.
