APC Stakeholders in Ife Federal Constituency Adopt Ajilesoro as Consensus Candidate for House of Representatives






Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Ife Federal Constituency have unanimously adopted Hon. Taofeeq Abimbola Ajilesoro as the party’s consensus candidate for the House of Representatives ahead of the forthcoming primary election.


The resolution was reached during a strategic stakeholders’ meeting held on Thursday, May 14, 2026, with attendance drawn from across all local governments within the constituency. Those present included Local Government Council Chairmen, Local Government Party Chairmen, Ward Chairmen, Local Government Secretaries, Ward Secretaries, Youth Leaders, Women Leaders, members of the Elders’ Caucus, and members of the Campaign Committee.


According to the communiqué issued at the end of the meeting, the stakeholders deliberated extensively on the political future of the Ife Federal Constituency and the need to strengthen unity within the party ahead of the primary election.


The meeting unanimously adopted the decision of the elders to affirm Hon. Taofeeq Abimbola Ajilesoro as the consensus candidate of the party, subject to the APC’s affirmation process and in accordance with the guidelines of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the constitution of the party.


The motion for Ajilesoro’s adoption was moved by the Chairman of all Ward Chairmen, Hon. Ojeleye Emmanuel of Ward 8, Moro, Ife North Local Government, and seconded by Hon. Michael Sunday, Youth Leader of Ward 8, Ife East Area Office, Modakeke. The motion reportedly received overwhelming support from all delegates and stakeholders present at the meeting.


In its resolutions, the congress reaffirmed its loyalty to the leadership of the APC and pledged to work collectively toward ensuring peace, unity, and electoral victory for the party at all levels.


The stakeholders also acknowledged that all aspirants seeking the APC ticket for the Ife Federal Constituency are competent, experienced, and committed party members with the capacity to serve the people effectively.


As part of efforts to strengthen party structures ahead of the primary election, the meeting directed the immediate conduct of Local Government, Ward, and Unit meetings across Ifeland to enhance mobilization and grassroots coordination.


The congress further reiterated its commitment to strict compliance with the guidelines and timetable stipulated by INEC and the APC regarding the conduct of the primary election.


Meanwhile, members observed a minute silence in honour of the late Alhaja Oreoluwa Lawal, wife of the Osun State APC Chairman, praying for the repose of her soul and strength for the bereaved family.


The meeting ended with a renewed commitment by party stakeholders to uphold the ideals of the APC and maintain a united front toward securing victory for the party in the forthcoming elections.
