The Alaa of Ilaa-Ijesa, Atakumosa West Local Governmet, Osun State, His Royal Highness Oba Dr. Ojarotade Adewale, Ogbeesun II, marked his birthday with a special celebration alongside pupils and staff of St. James Anglican Primary School, Ilaa-Ijesa, at the royal palace on Friday, June 19, 2026.
The event, which drew members of the Alaa-in-Council, community leaders, religious leaders, and school officials, was organised as an expression of gratitude to God for the monarch's life and an opportunity to share the joy of the occasion with children in the community.
The programme commenced with an opening prayer offered by Pastor Omirin of Christ Way Church, Ilaa-Ijesa.
Addressing guests at the gathering, the monarch explained that the celebration was designed not only to appreciate God's faithfulness in his life but also to reach out to pupils and less privileged members of the community.
According to Oba Ojarotade, children occupy a special place in the future of the community, making it important to celebrate with them and encourage their educational development.

Members of the Alaa-in-Council commended the monarch for his continued commitment to community development, citing his support for widows, orphans, the elderly, schoolchildren, and various developmental projects within Ilaa-Ijesa.
They also highlighted his role in facilitating projects such as the establishment of a modern police station, construction of new classrooms at Community High School, preservation of the community's cultural heritage, and efforts aimed at fostering unity among sons and daughters of Ilaa-Ijesa both at home and in the diaspora.
The highlight of the celebration was the distribution of school uniforms to pupils of St. James Anglican Primary School. The monarch also presented school bags, exercise books, biros, rulers and other educational materials to the children.
In addition, stationery materials were donated to members of staff to support teaching and administrative activities within the school.
Speaking on behalf of the Local Government Education Authority (LGEA) and the school management, the Headmistress, Mrs. Adeoye Kehinde Jumoke, expressed appreciation to the monarch for his generosity and unwavering support for education in the community.

The event concluded with prayers for the pupils offered by the royal father, followed by a closing prayer delivered by the Chief Imam of Ilaa-Ijesa, Alhaji Akewulere Bakare.
Among dignitaries present were Chief Tunde Bibilari, Chief Waidi Ikolaba, Chief Olasore Peter, Chief Yisa Amuda, and women chiefs led by the Yeyerise of Ilaa-Ijesa. The celebration ended with group photographs and goodwill interactions between the monarch, guests and the schoolchildren.
