AMBO Pledges Agricultural Revolution, Better Roads as APC Campaign Sweeps Through Ijesa North

The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming Osun State governorship election, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), has pledged to revitalise the agricultural sector through mechanised farming and improved support for farmers if elected governor.

Oyebamiji made the promise during the APC governorship campaign tour of Ijesa North Federal Constituency, where he visited Obokun and Oriade Local Government Areas.

Addressing party leaders, members, supporters and residents in Ibokun and Ijebujesa, the APC candidate said agriculture would receive priority attention under his administration, with deliberate policies aimed at increasing productivity and improving the livelihoods of farmers across the state.

He assured the people that his government would invest in mechanised farming and commence the distribution of hybrid seedlings immediately after assuming office.

According to him, his administration will provide farmers with essential agricultural inputs, modern equipment and other forms of support to boost food production and make farming more profitable.

"I know this is an agrarian community. Our fathers, mothers and youths are deeply involved in farming, and we will do everything possible to support them. We will encourage mechanised farming to increase productivity and improve farmers' incomes.

"We have the capacity to drive this initiative. We will ensure that farm produce gets to the markets seamlessly by opening up our markets and providing ready markets for agricultural products," Oyebamiji said.

The APC standard-bearer also expressed concern over the poor condition of roads in the area, promising that his administration would rehabilitate rural roads to complement efforts at transforming the agricultural sector.

"I have seen the deplorable state of the roads here. When we come into office, we will rehabilitate these roads to ease transportation and support agricultural development," he added.

Oyebamiji thanked party members and supporters for the large turnout during the campaign, assuring them that their expectations would be met once elected governor.

During the campaign, the Alademure of Ibokun, Oba Festus Kayode Awogboro, and the Elegboro of Ijebujesa, Oba Moses Olufemi Agunsoye, offered prayers for Oyebamiji's success in the August governorship election.

Speaking separately at their palaces, the traditional rulers described the APC candidate as a man of integrity and exemplary character, commending his political antecedents and reputation.

"We have heard good reports about you. Everyone speaks well of you. You are known as an Omoluabi, and we pray that God will continue to guide you and grant all your heart's desires," the monarchs said.

The campaign train moved from Ibokun, the headquarters of Obokun Local Government Area, to Ijebujesa, the headquarters of Oriade Local Government Area, where Oyebamiji and members of his entourage received a warm welcome from APC supporters and residents.
