Segilola Resources Leads Drive for Peaceful Osun Governorship Election, Engages NYSC Corps Members

Segilola Resources Operating Limited (SROL) has launched the third edition of its Election Violence Sensitization Campaign ahead of the Osun State governorship election scheduled for August 15, 2026.

The campaign is part of the company's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme aimed at promoting peaceful elections and encouraging safe and responsible participation in the democratic process across its host communities.

According to the company, the initiative was first introduced during the 2022 Osun governorship election and continued during the 2023 general elections. The campaign has become a key platform for educating residents on the importance of peaceful coexistence before, during, and after elections.

A major feature of the programme is the involvement of members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC). Since the campaign began, Corps members have played an important role in reaching out to communities, especially young people, with messages that encourage peace, tolerance, and civic responsibility.

SROL said the initiative reflects its continued commitment to supporting peaceful communities and working with young people and other stakeholders to prevent election-related violence.

The company added that it remains dedicated to promoting unity, safety, and stability in its host communities as Osun residents prepare to elect a new governor on August 15.
