The Senator representing Osun East Senatorial District and Chairman of the Senate Committee on Industries, Senator Francis Adenigba Fadahunsi (OFR), has expressed deep shock and sadness over the passing of the Owa-Ooye of Imesi-Ile, Oba Enoch Ademola Akinyemi, describing his death as a monumental loss to Ijesaland, Osun State and Nigeria at large.
In a condolence statement issued through his Head of Media and Public Enlightenment, Omole Olusegun Omo-Oshodi, the lawmaker paid glowing tribute to the late traditional ruler, whom he described as an outstanding monarch, intellectual giant and distinguished custodian of Yoruba culture and tradition.
Senator Fadahunsi noted that Oba Akinyemi, who occupied the revered throne of Owa-Ooye for over two decades, distinguished himself through visionary leadership, intellectual excellence and remarkable contributions to the growth and development of Imesi-Ile and its neighbouring communities.
According to the senator, the late monarch was not only a pride of the Yoruba race but also a charismatic, jovial and highly respected royal father whose wisdom, humility and friendly disposition endeared him to people from all walks of life.
Fadahunsi lamented that the monarch's passing had created a vacuum that would be difficult to fill, particularly within the traditional institution in Ijesaland.
"It is a big loss to us in Ijesaland, the state, and the nation. We can only console the family and the industrious people he led, and mourn him gracefully because he came, he saw, and he conquered," the senator stated.
The Osun East lawmaker further acknowledged the late monarch's enduring legacy of service, describing his reign as one that would be remembered for its contributions to community advancement, peaceful coexistence and the preservation of cherished traditional values.
He extended his heartfelt condolences to the immediate family of the departed royal father, the entire Imesi-Ile community, the traditional institution in Ijesaland, the government and people of Osun State, and all those affected by the monarch's passing.
Senator Fadahunsi prayed that Almighty God would grant the bereaved family and the people of Imesi-Ile the strength and fortitude to bear the painful loss.
KAKAKIOODUA NEWS reports that the late Oba Enoch Ademola Akinyemi leaves behind a legacy of intellectual distinction, royal dignity and dedicated service to his people.
