Buhari appoints Oluwatoyin Madein Nigeria’s first female Accountant General






President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Oluwatoyin Madein as the new Accountant General of the Federation (AGF).


The appointment was contained in a statement on Friday by the Director of Communication in the presidency, Mohammed Ahmed.


Ahmed said Madein emerged as the substantive AGF following the successful conduct of a selection process to fill the vacancy.


The appointment confirmed by the Head of Civil Service of the Federation (HoCSF) Folasade Yemi-Esan, took effect from Thursday, May 18.


Madein and 19 others were shortlisted for the position back in January. She was previously the Director of Finance and Accounts, HoCSF.


The indigene of Ogun State holds a Ph.D. in Management Finance from Walden University, Minnesota, USA, and would become the first female to occupy her new office.
