The All Progressives Congress Restoration Forum of Ijesa South Federal Consistency consisting of Young Stakeholders have urged APC members to rally support for the leadership of the immediate past governor of Osun state, Alhaj Gboyega Oyetola, to redefine the vision of APC as well as to reposition the party for excellence.
This was made known at a press conference addressed by the group on Friday at the All Progressives Congress (APC) Ilesa East Chapter, Party Secretariat at Itabalogun, Ilesa, Osun State, where members openly disassociated themselves from any act of misconduct and from any group that may act in any way against the interest and the progress of the party in the state and ljesa South Federal Constituency in particular.
Ijesa South Federal Constituency consists of Ilesa East , Ilesa West, Atakumosa East and Atakumosa West local government areas.
The group, consisting of youth leaders, women leaders, past local government Executive Committee members, counselors etc said:
"We have looked into various and peculiar tendencies that led to the very poor performances of the party and felt terribly worried that despite the outstanding performances of our leaders, and the immediate past governor of the state, Alhaji Isiaka Gboyega Oyetola.
"We noted with great delights, the exemplary leadership of Alhaj Gboyega Oyetola, the strength of his unequalled achievements while in office as a govemor and his shrewd politics rooted in the depth of his passion to redefine the vision of APC as well as repositioning the party for excellence. We, on this note and in faithful spirit, unanimously pass a vote of confidence in his leadership and support his decision to set up a "Repositioning Committee" at the state level.
"In like manners, we unanimously pass a vote of confidence on the Prof. Isaac Adewole led Committee which is saddied with the responsibility to reposition the party for good governance effective delivery and prepare the party for future elections. We are confident that the outcome of the Committee will resolve all tendencies and restore the party back to its position in the state being the ruling and governing party in Nigeria.
"We are party members and stakeholders from the various local governments in ljesa South Federal Constituency. We believe in the fact that politics is local everywhere and as such respect with confidence the leadership of the party in ljesa South Federal Constituency as currently constituted under the leadership of Elder Kunle Odeyemi.
"On this note, we unanimously reaffirm Elder Kunle Odeyemi as the leader of the party and say "YES" to the decision of the party to constitute a committee in the federal constituency that will present our common and unified position to the Prof. Isaac Adewole led committee in the state. We equally congratulate our amiable leader, HE Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR) for his success as the president-elect and we wish him a successful tenure in office."
Answering questions from journalists, the spokesperson of the group Hon. Johnson Ajilore remarked that by the constitution of the party, Alhaj Gboyega Oyetola is the undisputable leader of the party in Osun State, Otunba Sen. Iyiola Omisore is a National leader because of his position as national secretary of the party while Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola remains a leader as a past governor and a serving minister.
