Day-old-baby retrieved from sewage tank by Police officers in Gowon Estate

Lagos state Police Command  officers at Gowon Estate Division have retrieved a day-old female baby from a sewage tank upon being alerted.

The baby was taken for immediate medical attention at a health centre and is doing well.

The Lagos Police Command takes to it's Twitter handle to announce the discovery with the picture of the baby wrapped with cloth in a bowl.

KAKAKIOODUA observation shows that there exists  the Child Rights Act, Cap. C50, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004 that imposes sanction on any parent who abandons a new born child and absconds after birth; and for Related Matters.
