Ifon-Ilobu Land Dispute: Police Arrest Suspects for Burning Palace, Killing 28-Year-Old Admission Seeker






Ibrahim, an admission seeker was on Sunday killed and his body burnt at Okanala area in Irepodun Local Government of Osun amidst the communal crisis between Ifon and Ilobu communities.


The Nigeria Police Force has confirmed the arrest of suspects in connection with the killing of 28-year-old Ibrahim Kudus in Okanala, Irepodun Local Government of Osun State on Sunday.


Ibrahim, an admission seeker was on Sunday killed and his body burnt at Okanala area in Irepodun Local Government of Osun amidst the communal crisis between Ifon and Ilobu communities.


It was learned that the two warring communities were fighting over a landed property.


An uncle of the victim, Prince Jimoh Kadri, who claimed he was the target of the assassination, described how armed men stormed his residence in Okanla this morning, spraying gunshots.


Giving an update on the incident on Monday, SP Yemisi Opalola, the police spokesperson claimed that normalcy had returned to the area while some suspects had been arrested.


The Police PPRO was quoted by PM News Nigeria saying: “We have made arrests concerning the incident and the CP, Kehinde Longe, has deployed officers to the area to maintain law and order.


“Presently, Police officers are on the ground in the area and normalcy has returned, and people are going about their lawful businesses,” she said


The state government on Sunday imposed an indefinite curfew from 8pm to 6am on the two communities.
