Omowaiye salutes ex-minister, Adewole, over Nile University Award

Engr Remi Omowaiye, former Commissioner for Works and Transport in Osun State, has joined thousands of admirers of former health minister, Professor Isaac Adewole, to congratulate him on the recent honorary degree bestowed on him by the Nile University, Abuja.

According to Omowaiye, "Professor Isaac Folorunso Adewole is an icon who deserves to be canonised in Nigeria. For 45 years, he, as a specialist, has been delivering babies and caring for people during pregnancy and after they give birth. He has been treating medical conditions unique to pregnancy and perform surgeries related to labour and delivery."

Omowaiye, who compared the recipient with another renowned gyneacologist from Democratic Republic of Congo, Dr Denis  Mukwege, the 2018 Nobel Peace Prize Laurette who equally ventured into politics as Adewole, said he is a solution provider and inspiring and tested  reconciliator and peacemaker.

"As Prof. is saving lives and solving medical problems with his blades, scapels and other medical tools, so also he is solving problems in politics. He is well regarded in the All Progress Congress, APC, particularly for his leading role in the Party's  latest reconcilation and reformation drive in Osun.

Omowaiye expressed his pleasure that a great university like Nile University recognised the exceptional scholarly and intellectual contributions of Adewole to academic fields and public life.

Nile University, an international university operating under Honoris United University with 14 members, conferred an honourary doctorate degree in medical sciences on the Ijesha born gyneacologist/obstetrician and former vice-chancellor of the University of Ibadan.

Adewole received the award alongside another prominent Nigerian and billionaire, Dr Mohammed Indimi whose networth was estimated by Forbes as US$500m.
