Hon Olakunle Mohammed, son of HRM (Oba) R.B. Mohammed, the Olosunjela of Osunjela-Ijesa, Atakumosa West Local Government, Osun state and Alhaji Rasheed Bakare, husband of Olosunjela's daughter have accused some bloggers media hubs of attaching the photograph in which they appear to headline news informing the public of the judgement of the Federal High Court sitting in Osogbo, the Osun State capital, where five persons were sentenced to five years’ imprisonment each for defrauding the immediate past Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Timothy Owoeye, of a sum of N38m and also for posting a nude video of the former lawmaker online.
Olakunle Mohamed, who spoke with KAKAKIOODUA over the misrepresentation and misinformation that the attachment of the photograph have caused the duo, urged the concerned Media houses, bloggers and individuals to correct this mistake by using the appropriate photograph of the convicted persons.
He specifically expressed their concerns over being inundated with phone calls, SMS and WhatsApp messages from family, friends and associates.
"We are alive and free as a law abiding citizens that we are and for the avoidance of doubt, we have never defrauded nor collected a dime from Rt. Hon. Timothy Owoeye and he himself can testify to that.
"We therefore warn all lazy bloggers, individuals and journalists who did not investigate their stories diligently before copying and pasting to please desist and re-captioned for correction by the concerned media.
"Failure to correct this misinformation and publish a rejoinder will be tantamount to litigation namely "defamation of character "
"Hon Olakunle Mohammed and Alhaji Rasheed Bakare would like to seize this opportunity to thank family, friends, well wishers and well-meaning persons in and outside the country for the show of love and concern over the wrong use of our photographs by some media outlets." He said
