APC Ilesa West Leadership Organs Distance Self From Wale Adedoyin's "Our Unity is Our Strength" Banner

The leadership organs of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ilesa West local government, Osun State, on Tuesday dissociated itself and the party from the tactics of the former member of the Osun State House of Assembly, Hon Wale Adedoyin, in promoting Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola by trying to bring him back to the party through the backdoor.

One would recall that Hon Wale Adedoyin had on Sunday erected a banner with the header "Our Unity is Our Strength" at the Ilesa West APC Secretariat at Isokun, Ilesa, wherein he projected Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola alongside the APC National Leader and President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Osun State APC Leader and the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, HE Adegboyega Oyetola.

The erection of the banner had generated controversies on some APC members dominated social media platforms.

In a disclaimer release signed by Ilesa West APC leadership organs involving the two State Exco members representing the local government, the two LG party chairmen, the LG secretary, the LG women leaders, the LG youth leaders , the ten Wards chairmen and other leaders of the party seen by KAKAKIOODUA, the leadership disassociated itself, claiming that Hon. Wale Adedoyin does not enjoy the full privileges of a party member until he is cleared of anti-party allegations against him.

The disclaimer release also mentioned that Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, strongly and massively mobilized his supporters and devotees to work against the Osun state 2022 governorship re-election of HE Adegboyega Oyetola and the 2023 presidentiai ambition of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

We the Leaders and Ward Executives of the All Progressives Congress in llesa West I Local Government Area use this medium to convey our displeasure regarding the arm-twisting and disingenuous tactics of the former member of the Osun State House of Assembly, Hon Wale Adedoyin, in promoting Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, bringing him back to the party through the backdoor.

We vehemently disassociate ourselves from the banner and branded materials stationed in and around llesa in circulation, linking and projecting Ogbeni RAUF Aregbesola alongside our National Leader and President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, State Leader and the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, HE Adegboyega Oyetola.

While we hold that Hon. Adedoyin is at liberty to launder and glamorize the image of any political leader that catches his fancy, we state that his recent political conduct in the party when he was alleged to have hosted Governor Ademola Adeleke and some PDP LG/Ward Exco members in llesa West has diminished his credential and impugned his reputation as the relevant person to promote progressive ideals within the party.

At best, Adedoyin is an APC member on-trial as he does not enjoy the full privileges of a party member until he is cleared of anti-party allegations against him.

Equally, we agree that Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola is our kinsman, in equal measure as the PDP Chairman Hon. Sunday Bisi is; however, it is important to state that his re-admittance and re-absorption into our party, given his recent gross misconduct and anti-party postures, can only be determined by the Leadership of the party at the National and State levels.

Ogbeni Aregbesola, we can recall, strongly and massively mobilized his supporters and devotees to work against the governorship election of HE Adegboyega Oyetola and presidential ambition of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

He did not only work against the elections of President Tinubu and Ex-Governor Oyetola, he also stayed away from important elections and hobnobbed with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to undermine the electoral successes of our party in other three elections, viz: Senatoriai, House of Representatives and House of Assembly elections.

After an emergency meeting held at the LG party Secretariat, Isokun, llesa on the 1lth December 2023 where we have the presence of party leadership organs which involves the two State Exco members representing the LG, the two LG party chairmen, the LG secretary, the LG women leaders, the LG youth leaders , the ten Wards chairmen and other leaders of the party. We all decided on the above mentioned issue and the steps to be taken on it.

We have also unanimously agreed to call Hon. Wale Adedoyin for the urgent removal of the graphic work with in 72hrs. We do not want it there as this might have negative impacts on the political reasoning of our members and the general public.

Finaliy, we salute the eternal and unwavering statesmanly role of our Father and Pathfinder, Chief Bisi Akande aimed at repositioning and aligning the party to the winning paths.

We also reaffirm our confidence in the excellent and exemplary leadership of our state Leader, HE Adegboyega Oyetola and the astute Chairman of the Party, Sooko.Tajudeer Lawal.

Thank you.
