Ijesa monarch, Olori, doll out palliatives to residents (PHOTOS)

In a remarkable demonstration of compassion and solidarity, His Royal Majesty, Oba Dr. Micheal Odunayo Ajayi, Arowotawaya II, the Elerinmo of Erinmo Ijesa, alongside his esteemed wife, Olori Aderonke, launched a relief program to support the residents of Erinmo-Ijesa, Oriade local government, Osun State. The event, held at the palace, witnessed the distribution of food and cash assistance to over 800 individuals in need.

Addressing the media, His Royal Majesty emphasized his commitment to alleviating the hardship faced by his people during these challenging times. He stated, "This is the best I can do for my people and to support the government. Recession is prevalent worldwide, and it is essential for everyone who has something to give to extend a helping hand."

His Majesty also urged the government to implement measures promptly to address the economic hardships faced by the populace.

Chief Saba, speaking on behalf of the community, expressed profound gratitude to the monarch for his benevolent gesture. He lauded the initiative as commendable and unexpected from a monarch, highlighting the unique compassion and generosity of His Majesty. "Our king is different, and we thank God for giving him to us. While many monarchs receive from their people, our king consistently gives to us," Chief Saba remarked.

Each beneficiary received food items and cash assistance, accompanied by heartfelt prayers showered upon the monarch and his wife. The atmosphere was filled with gratitude and appreciation as the community came together to support one another during these trying times.

Beneficiaries of the relief program included:

Youths ,Widows, Disabled individuals, Aged and elderly people, Men and women of God, Alfas, Chiefs, Baales, Alakosos, Security personnel.

In addition to cash and food items, some beneficiaries also received beautiful umbrellas in preparation for the upcoming rainy season, further demonstrating the thoughtful consideration of the royal couple.

The Elerinmo and Olori Aderonke's initiative serves as a shining example of compassion, leadership, and community solidarity, inspiring hope and resilience among the people of Erinmo.
