EREJA-OKESA-IMO-BREWERIES-ROAD DUALIZATION: Ijesa Elders Send Words of Succour to Affected Property Owners (VIDEO)






Six Ijesa elders have called on all those whose  houses are being affected by the demolition exercise in the efforts of the government at dualizing Ereja-Okesa-Imo-Breweries-Akure express road to take it as a sacrifice for the development of Ilesa and the entire Ijesaland as they appealed for patience from the people.



Scores of structures including residential houses, business ventures including banks a petrol stations, churches, mosques, among others have been demolished with over 100 additional property already marked for demolition along the Ereja-Okesa-Imo-Breweries Road that joins the Akure-Ife-Ibadan express road in Ilesa are being pulled down to pave the way for the construction of a dual carriage road.



Although the demolition exercise faced no resistance from various property owners but in a press briefing in Ilesa early on Saturday, six Ijesa elders appealed to the government charged with the construction of the road, to speed up on the aspect of valuation and payment of monetary compensation to the owners of demolished structures, so as to provide opportunity to cushion the catastrophe and loss resulting from this action, emphasizing the chaotic situation already present at the Ereja-Okesa-Imo-Breweries eyebrow streets.



Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi, Asiwaju of Ijesaland who acted as the spokesperson for the sextet (Alagba Wale Idowu, Chief Olu Falomo, Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi, Oba Samson Omokehinde Oyeleye, Chief Afolabi Igbaroola and Rev'd Lowo Adebiyi), also thanked the governor of Osun state, Sen. Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke for approving the reconstruction of the road which has been a long time yearning of the Ijesa people.
