Anglican and Methodist Bishops today made an episcopal visit to Owa Obokun Adimula, Oba Clement Adesuyi Haastrup, Ajimoko III in Ipebi, at the home of the Ogboni of Ilesa chieftaincy, where he is observing a 90-day seclusion in accordance with Ijesaland tradition, separate prayer and praise sessions were held today for him.
Most Reverend Amos Akinloose Akindeko led the Methodist clergymen, while Rt Rev. Prof. Dapo Folorunso Asaju the Ilesa Diocese Anglican Communion's bishop led the Anglican clergymen
In addition to promising to further up their preaching on Ijesaland's unity and peace, the two prayed for the paramount ruler's successful reign.
Archbishop Akindeko spoke about how Methodism began in the palace under Ajimoko I's rule and recalled how King Kumokun Adedeji Haastrup provided land for missionaries who expanded the Ilesa diocese to Benin, Osogbo, and portions of the Southern states.
He thanked Oba Adesuyi Haastrup for his benevolence citing the church's digital organ as an example .
The Owa Obokun expressed appreciation to the clergymen and urged them not to relent in their supplications for the unity and progress of Ijesaland .
Highlight of the programme was presentation of Christian literatures including Bibles to the traditional ruler.
