Who is Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi? To me, Asiwaju is a worthy and Patriotic Ijesa man to the core. He is a Pathfinder, Trailblazer, Perfect Facilitator, Great Mobilizer, Go-getter, Cheerful giver, Diligent personality and highly devoted to the works of God. This is just to mention few of his excellent attributes.
ENCOMIA AS ASIWAJU OF IJESA LAND YINKA FASUYI CLOCKS 70 YEARS OF AGE

My first encounter with FASUYI DYNASTY was in 1960s at Reclamation Road, Lagos Island, Lagos, very close to Jankara Market, Lagos. There lived our elder brother with a moderate photo studio known as UNCLE FASH PHOTOS at Erogbogbo’s house and the owner was Brother Moses Fasuyi - a very elderly brother to this unique man, the birthday celebrant - Asiwaju of Ijesa land - Yinka Fasuyi.
We were three Ijesa boys that adopted Uncle Fash photos as our elder brother. We were: Late Sunday Adeyanju - the proprietor of YANJU INTERNATIONAL HOTEL, Otunba Samuel Ajayi and myself - Jacob Duro Arogundade. Since then, I have known and enjoyed the generosity and kindness of the Fasuyis towards any Ijesa sons and daughters.
Therefore, I am not surprised when I started hearing and seeing the developmental projects under the leadership of Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi and some other prominent sons and daughters of Ijesa land.
Bird’s eye view of the wonders include the following:

Ijesa land Geriatric Hospital.
Ijesa land Community Development Association.
Health Insurance Scheme for the Elderly in Ijesa land.
Establishment of University of Ilesa

The Ex-Trainees Agric Programme Loan
Sponsorship of Ijesa Students at Federal Science and Technical College, Ilesa.
Again, my first face to face contact with Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi was at the Opening ceremony of Ijesa Geriatric Hospital. Chief Afolabi Igbaroola pointed him to me and I saw him for the first time in his big regalia with to match head cap and perfect shoe. I shook hand with him. He acknowledged my gesture with due respect and humility despite the fact that, he did not know me. This singular act, gives him 110% rating from me. Honestly, that I changed my believe in Yoruba Adage that says: ‘ASO NLA KO NI ENIYAN NLA”, literally translate as: “Expensive dressing does not reflect a high personality”. To me that day with Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi, ASO NLA NI ENIYAN NLA, because with his big regalia which was intimidating, he carried himself with humility and respect to embrace me.
In a related development, my second encounter with Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi - the Balogun Ijo of the Holy Trinity Cathedral Church, Omofe, Ilesa, was when late Prince Ebenezer Oluseyi Adeyemi Lufadeju introduced me to him as his friend and classmate at Holy Trinity Primary School, Omofe, Ilesa. We were later joined by Chief Afolabi Igbaroola and Late Provost of the Cathedral of Holy Trinity, Omofe, Ilesa, the Very Rev’d Enitan Oludare Olajide. The duo introduced me to Asiwaju as their elder brother. The way Asiwaju received me with absolute humility and respect remains indelible in my mind.
Therefore, Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi, who equally doubles as Patron and member of Omofe Youth Christian Association of the Holy Trinity Cathedral, Omofe, Ilesa, (OYCA) of which I am the current president is a very marvelous personality. I cannot forget in a hurry his contributions morally and financially towards the treatment of the Late Provost Olajide. At the time the provost was ill, he made huge fund available for the payment of his hospital bills. When the Provost eventually died, we phoned him early in the morning to inform him. On that day, when late Seyi Lufadeju, Akin Ajayi-Obe and myself got to Ife, Asiwaju told us to wait for him that he would soon join us at Ife. Despite that he had very important engagement, he canceled it and within Two hours, he joined us at Ife. We jointly made arrangements for the late Provost embalmment and paid some money before he went back to Ibadan, he also actively participated with others in financing the burial of the provost.
Mere reading through all I write above, one can then ask the question: Who is Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi? To me, Asiwaju is a worthy and Patriotic Ijesa man to the core. He is a Pathfinder, Trailblazer, Perfect Facilitator, Great Mobilizer, Go-getter, Cheerful giver, Diligent personality and highly devoted to the works of God. This is just to mention few of his excellent attributes.
As my dear brother Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi - the Asiwaju of Ijesa land and Balogun Ijo of the Holy Trinity Cathedral, Omofe, Ilesa, clocks 70 years which is a great milestone in the history of mankind, therefore, the Golden advice that I will give him as his birthday present, is to encourage him to continue to do good.
However, in the cause of his journey in this slippery terrain of the world, he should trust no mortal, always watch his back by himself, hope for the best, yet expect the worst from everyone around him because human being will always be human being. Those who shout Hosanna today are likely to shout crucify him tomorrow. It happened to our Lord Jesus Christ and so, it can happen to anybody.
I pray that he will be 80 years, 90 years, 100years and 110years on this earth in good health and continuous prosperity. I also pray that I will be the chairman on his 110 years Birthday
