To God alone be the Glory, hallelujah! “So, teach us to number our days that we may gain a heart of wisdom”.
ASIWAJU YINKA FASUYI, a complete gentleman, full blooded Ijesa Man and dynamic personality who always blend himself to release his blessings to support his kindreds and the less privileged.
When you’re in the presence of someone truly good; not pretending to be good, not publicly-moral or selectively kind, but genuinely, deeply relentlessly good, something shifts in you, you feel lighter, you feel braver, you feel like humanity. This is a man who makes kindness radical again; who reminds the powerful that being human is not weakness, who speaks of love not as a doctrine but as a duty.
This is a man whose voice is always soft, but never weak, carries the weight of truth, especially when it unsettles the comfortable.
In ASIWAJU, I found out that goodness is still possible, that we just need to be brave. ASIWAJU YINKA FASUYI is the man, he chooses love over doctrine, he chooses action over applause.
High Chief YINKA FASUYI walks with the poor. He dines on the same table with the less privileged. CHIEF FASUYI charges the powerful not with anger but with moral courage, with a smile that feel like melodious music.
High Chief YINKA FASUYI understands something many of us forgets, that helping the poor is a way of living, a way of seeing others, a way of choosing kindness over and over even when it hurts.
Maybe just maybe, the way we honour ASIWAJU is to teach us to become the light of IJESA LAND ourselves. Let us imbibe his faith in humanity and let it fuel our own faith in humanity as well.
ASIWAJU of IJESA LAND bestrides the narrow landscape of Ijesa Land like a colossus and indeed ASIWAJU FASUYI is a colossus in many aspects.
