It is our pleasure today to celebrate you, Chief Yinka Fasuyi, the first Asiwaju of Ijesaland. For you, it is a new day and season as you mark the proverbial three scores and ten years on this terrestrial ball called the Earth.
All glory, laud and praises to God who has made today possible as we rejoice and be glad in it.
As you luxuriate in receiving praises, encomiums, goodwill and unending felicitations from all and sundry, remember, it is not only the length of days but the attitude, influence and the impact which you have invested into your life and those of others in all areas of your engagements in the course of time.
For attitude, so much is revealed in your person. It was the American Psychologist/Philosopher, James Allen who said “A person cannot travel within and stood still without “ because what happens within us affects what happens without. When the attitude is positive and conducive to growth, the mind expands and progress begins.
As the Asiwaju of Ijesaland, you have been a person of tremendous influence because of the contributions you have made over the long haul of life have been positive and the legacy, far reaching and patently enduring.
You have proven over and again that you’re a multiplying influencer helping people to become positive influencers in the life of others. Within a decade of your emergence as the Asiwaju, your impacts and the footprints have been growing in leaps and bounds from the precincts of Ilesha to the extensive reaches of Ijesa land in effect. Your leadership as the Asiwaju has propelled significant progress and indelible contributions to the wellbeing of the people. You have rallied people of goodwill and substance from within and in the diaspora to the needs of the moment in confronting the physical and social wellbeing of their fatherland. Like never before, the response has been overwhelming.
Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi has redefined demonstrable leadership as a call beyond service with positive and strategic engagement. You have applied the principles derived from Management practice to have a bearing on the outcomes of numerous engagements to a great effect. From one Project to another, the beat of the new reawakening goes on. You continue to demonstrate that when the leadership is right, the people are willing and by so doing, what seems impossible becomes available. This is the hallmark of a trusted leadership.
By the size of your vision, good spirited and patriotic Ijesa sons and daughters are doing great things never before envisaged nor thought possible.
Asiwaju’s bold leadership emanations have brought new perspectives of Community service to the fore. From the Construction of the new Palace of the Owa Obokun of Ijesa land to the Ijesa land Geriatric Hospital and thence to the establishment of the up and coming University of Ilesha on the one hand to the mission to upgrade the Human Development Index quotient of engaging to increase the capacity and competence of our numerous unemployed and disoriented youths for self-employment and usefulness through funding Scholarship Schemes, Financing start-ups in Agriculture and empowering by funding Vocational trainings in Technical Schools all in quest to put our youths on the pathway of positive life for self and the Community wellbeing.
Your total commitment and focus to the socio-economic development of Ijesa land remain an unfolding passion and mission.
As you celebrate this milestone of 70 years, may grace continue to multiply as the zeal remains unending even as we join in taking Ijesa land to greater heights of prosperity and collective advancement.
May we continue to see the more of you and people like you as we march on in our quest to make Ijesa land very great indeed.
