The Paramount Ruler of Ijesaland, Owa Clement Adesuyi Haastrup, Ajimoko III, has thrown his weight behind the 2025 Iwude Ijesa Festival and Ijesa Unity Carnival, pledging to use his influence to attract dignitaries and prominent leaders to the event.
The monarch's endorsement came after a consultative meeting with the Central Planning Committee for the festival, held at his palace on Wednesday, October 29, 2025. Owa Ajimoko III listened attentively to the committee's presentation, nodding in approval and encouragement as Chairman Chief Afolabi Igbaroola and Vice Chairman Alagba Wale Idowu briefed him on the festival's plans.
The traditional ruler emphasized the importance of the event in promoting Ijesa's cultural heritage, fostering unity, and boosting tourism. He assured the committee of his commitment to using his vast network to ensure the presence of esteemed guests, including prominent leaders and government officials.
The meeting, attended by chiefs-in-council including the Elegboro of Ijebu-Jesa HRM Oba Engr. Olufemi Agunsoye and the Ogboni of Ipole-Ijesa Oba Omokehinde Oyebade, was marked by solemn dignity and thoughtful consideration. Owa Ajimoko III's wise interventions and astute questions revealed his deep understanding of the issues at hand.

The discussions also highlighted the role of the Ijesa Unity Carnival's legbelegbes in celebrating Owa Adesuyi Haastrup's maiden participation at the festival.
Others members of the Planning Committee at the meeting included, Mr. Akin Ajayi-Obe, Mr. Olubunmi Oladele, Prince Isaac Haastrup, Prince Benson Adegbola, Mr. Oladimeji Lasore and Mrs. Bunmi Ogunniyi, the Secretary.
The 2025 edition of the annual Iwude Ijesa festival grand finale holds on Saturday 20th December while its reception in the gathering of ijesa sons and daughters in legbelegbes tagged Ijesa Unity Carnival comes up next day, Sunday, 21st December at the Ilesa Grammar School Sports arena.
