In a surprising move, the Paramount Ruler of Ijesaland, Owa Obokun Clement Adesuyi Haastrup, Ajimoko III, has advised other elitist groups to form their own development body outside the Asiwaju Olayinka Fasuyi-led Ijesa Community Development Assembly (ICDA) aimed at a shift in approach, to encourage healthy competition and collaboration that can drive progress in Ijesaland.
Owa Adesuyi Haastrup made the call on Thursday at the epoch-making official unveiling of the Ijesa Development Fund (IDF) at the Obokungbusi Hall, Owa's Palace, Ilesa.
"I want to advise ijesa elites vying for influence in Ijesaland's development to adopt diverse approaches to development, potentially paving the way for multiple initiatives.
"If you don't like what Asiwaju Olayinka Fasuyi and the ICDA are initiating you can as well form an alternative body and come up with initiatives that can contribute to Ijesaland." Owa Adesuyi Haastrup said
The Ijesa Development Fund (IDF), a visionary initiative of Asiwaju Olayinka Fasuyi under the ICDA is aimed at funding strategic projects in healthcare, education, infrastructure, and economic empowerment has turned to a significant milestone in Ijesaland's development journey.
