Members of the Ijesa Unity Carnival Logistics Committee convened a meeting on Tuesday to review progress and make key decisions ahead of the upcoming event.
It was the 7th meeting in the year ahead of the Iwude Ijesa festival and the Ijesa Unity Carnival slated for the Saturday 20th and Sunday the 21st of December respectfully.
At the meeting held at the boardroom of the Iwude Ijesa Secretariat Oke-emese, palace square and presided over by Chief Afolabi Igbaroola, Chairman Iwude Ijesa Planning Committee, various subcommittee chairmen presented reports on their areas of responsibility, highlighting achievements and identifying areas that require attention.
One of the key decisions made during the meeting was the approval of supplies of canopies, chairs and tables to be used at the grand finale event venue of Ilesa Grammar School Sports arena on the day of the event.
The meeting agreed that the canopies should be all set by Saturday and all chairs and tables arranged before 8am on the d-day to ensure al comfortable experience for all. Part payment in cheque was handed over to the supplier.
Other logistical arrangements, including media and publicity, medical, events and venue, seating arrangements and entertainment, were also discussed.
The meeting was adjourned with a renewed sense of purpose and direction, as committee members looked forward to hosting a successful and memorable event.
