In a remarkable expression of gratitude and faith to mark his birthday, Otunba (Dr) Gabriel Emiola Ogunsanya, Chief Executive Officer of FEGAGRO Agricultural Farm and a prominent All Progressives Congress (APC) leader in Oriade Local Government, Patron of Celestial Church of Christ in Ijesa North and Chairman Elders' Council in Ijesaland, who celebrates his birthday today, 24th December, 2025, has generously donated his landed property in Ijeda-Ijesa for the construction of a Celestial Church of Christ, which he is personally building. Upon completion, the church will be formally handed over to the Celestial Church of Christ in Nigeria. The gesture has been widely commended as an exceptional act of selfless generosity and a strong commitment to spiritual growth and community development.
The ceremony led by Superior Evangelist Egbekunle began with fervent prayers and thanksgiving led by senior shepherds, prophets, and elders of the Celestial Church of Christ. Clad in their traditional white garments, members gathered in reverence as hymns, Bible readings, and spiritual songs filled the atmosphere. Special prayers were offered to sanctify the land, committing it into God’s hands and asking for divine protection, peace, and prosperity upon the project.
At the climax of the event, the foundation of the church was officially laid. This sacred act was accompanied by scriptural declarations affirming Jesus Christ as the solid foundation upon which the church is built. Consecrated water, salt, honey, sugar and candles were used to dedicate the ground, with prayers declaring the future church as a place of worship, salvation, healing, and spiritual renewal.
Speaking at the event, Otunba Ogunsanya who has been a member of the Celestial Church of Christ for over three decades, expressed gratitude to God for the gift of life and described the donation of the land as a personal thanksgiving offering and a birthday memorial to the glory of God as he affirms that all what the Celestial Church of Christ founder Prophet S. B. J. Oshoffa prophesied into his life are fulfilled. He emphasized his belief that the church would serve not only as a spiritual home for worshippers but also as a center for unity, peace, and moral upliftment within the community.
The foundation laying ceremony drew church members, community leaders, political associates, family members and well-wishers, all of whom joined in celebrating the fulfillment of a divine vision. The event concluded with joyful praise, thanksgiving, and blessings, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the Celestial Church of Christ and standing as a lasting testament to faith, generosity, and service to God and humanity.
