President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji on his emergence as the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for Osun State following Saturday’s primary election.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President praised the Osun APC for the “unity and spirit of reconciliation” that characterised the affirmation‑based primary. He also lauded the aspirants who stepped down in favour of Oyebamiji, describing their action as a demonstration of party loyalty and a collective commitment to APC ideals.
President Tinubu urged the new flag‑bearer to be magnanimous in victory, calling on him to “embrace all party leaders and former aspirants, ensuring inclusivity and cohesion as the party moves forward.” He added:
“The journey to reclaim Osun State for the progressive fold in the 2026 governorship election has begun. I urge all members and leaders of APC in the state to remain focused, united, and resolute. Victory is achievable, and together, we will succeed.”
The primary was chaired by Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo in Osogbo, where party delegates unanimously affirmed Oyebamiji’s candidature.
