In a congratulatory letter addressed to Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, the newly‑named All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for Osun State, Engr. Dideolu Falobi, FNSE, FCIoD, a fellow aspirant in the party’s recent primary, pledged his full support and urged the incoming flag‑bearer to “unify the party” ahead of the 2026 gubernatorial poll.
The letter, dated 13 December 2025 and signed electronically by Falobi, reads in part:
“Congratulations on your emergence as the APC candidate for the 2026 Osun State gubernatorial election. I fully accept the outcome and respect the decision of our party. Given the circumstances surrounding the process and the expectations of stakeholders, the task before you is clear: to unify the party. I encourage you to promptly reach out to all aspirants, engage key leaders across the state, and build an inclusive team that reflects the broad strength of our party. Only a united APC can secure victory in the general election. You have the assurance of my full support and best wishes as you take on this responsibility.”
Falobi, a seasoned engineer and former aspirant in the Osun APC chapter, emphasized the importance of reconciliation after a primary that saw several candidates step down in favour of Bola Oyebamiji, the former Managing Director of the National Inland Waterways Authority. The primary, held on Saturday at Ebunoluwa Group of Schools in Osogbo, was chaired by Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo and affirmed by party delegates.
President Bola Tinubu also lauded the outcome earlier on Saturday, praising the “spirit of reconciliation” that characterised the election and urging Oyebamiji to be “magnanimous in victory” and to “embrace all party leaders and former aspirants.”
Falobi’s endorsement adds to a growing chorus of party figures calling for cohesion as the APC prepares to contest the August 2026 governorship race in Osun State. “The journey to reclaim Osun for the progressive fold has begun,” President Tinubu said, echoing the sentiment that unity will be key to success.
The APC’s Osun chapter now looks to consolidate its ranks, with Falobi’s pledge of support seen as a significant boost for Oyebamiji’s campaign. The party’s leadership has scheduled a series of stakeholder meetings in the coming weeks to further solidify the campaign’s structure and message.
