The Iwude Ijesa Planning Committee has disclaimed any involvement in a message reportedly circulated to presidents of Iwude Ijesa groups, directing societies and associations to subscribe the sum of ₦150,000 into designated accounts in connection with the Ijesa News Magazine.
In a disclaimer signed by the Chairman of the Committee, Chief Afolabi Igbaroola, FCA, the Committee stated that it did not authorise, approve, or participate in any such request or financial arrangement.
According to the statement, the Committee has no connection whatsoever with the alleged subscription drive and urged all societies and groups to treat the arrangement as entirely independent and unrelated to both the Iwude Ijesa Planning Committee and the Iwude Ijesa Festival.
The Committee further advised stakeholders to exercise caution and ensure due diligence in their dealings, stressing that any financial requests linked to the Iwude Ijesa Festival would only be communicated through officially recognised channels.
The disclaimer concluded with an appeal for the understanding and cooperation of all concerned parties.
