Osun APC Dismisses Adeleke’s Criticism of Oyebamiji, Cites Fear of 2026 Poll Defeat

The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has faulted Governor Ademola Adeleke over his recent criticism of an alleged economic blueprint attributed to the party’s governorship candidate for the August 8, 2026 election, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO).

In a press statement issued on Monday by the APC Director of Media and Information, Mogaji Kola Olabisi, the party described the governor’s comments as “imaginary” and motivated by envy and fear of an impending electoral defeat

According to the APC, the economic blueprint Governor Adeleke criticized does not exist and was merely concocted by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Accord Party candidate and his supporters to discredit Oyebamiji.

The party argued that even if Oyebamiji were to unveil an economic plan, he possesses the educational background, experience, and exposure to clearly articulate policies aimed at correcting what it described as “verifiable wrong policies” of the Adeleke administration.

The APC further claimed that Oyebamiji’s preparation of an economic blueprint would be “a walk-over,” insisting that governance is a familiar terrain for the former Commissioner for Finance, unlike Governor Adeleke, whom it accused of lacking the capacity to effectively manage the affairs of the state.

The statement alleged that the current administration is being run by proxy and has failed to deliver meaningful socio-economic development over the past three years, adding that residents of the state have become disillusioned with what it termed “lies and subterfuge” associated with the government.

The opposition party attributed Governor Adeleke’s political posture to a loss of confidence ahead of the 2026 governorship election, citing what it described as inefficiency and poor performance since he assumed office.

While reiterating confidence in Oyebamiji’s credentials, the APC praised its candidate’s educational attainments, professional experience, and political exposure, describing him as well-equipped to govern Osun State.

The party concluded by urging residents to disregard the governor’s claims about Oyebamiji’s alleged economic blueprint, stating that when such a document is eventually prepared, it would be officially and publicly presented.

The statement was signed by Mogaji Kola Olabisi, Director of Media and Information, Osun State APC.
