The Ijesa Development Forum (IDF) has called on stakeholders and residents of Ijesaland to renew their commitment to grassroots development, using the occasion of Easter to highlight the values of sacrifice, resilience, and collective progress.
In an Easter message issued by the Chairman of the Forum, Alagba Wale Idowu, the season was described as a time of hope, renewal, and victory, drawing parallels with the ongoing efforts to advance development across Ijesaland.
The statement paid tribute to notable individuals described as “heroes of development,” led by the Owa Obokun Adimula of Ijesaland, Owa Clement Adesuyi Haastrup, for his leadership and commitment to the growth of the Ijesa nation.
Other prominent figures acknowledged for their contributions include Olusola Agbeja-Obada, Yinka Fasuyi, Olasupo Shadiya, Ademola Aladekomo, and Olalekan Oyeleye, all of whom were commended for their roles in fostering development initiatives in the region.
While noting that numerous contributors could not be individually mentioned due to space constraints, the IDF expressed gratitude to donors and supporters at all levels, emphasizing that their efforts continue to shape the success story of the Forum.
The Chairman reaffirmed the Forum’s commitment to transparency and accountability in managing resources, assuring contributors that these principles remain central to its operations.
He also outlined the Forum’s development model, which involves project initiation at the ward level, followed by endorsement from the Council of Traditional Rulers before final implementation. According to him, increased participation and financial contributions would ensure balanced and accelerated development across Ijesaland.
The IDF further encouraged individuals to enlist in the “Register of Ijesa Developers,” describing it as an opportunity to contribute to the region’s progress and secure a place in its developmental history.
The message concluded with goodwill wishes to residents, expressing hope that the joy of Easter would bring lasting blessings to all supporters and their families.
