Ijesa Felates Club Hosts Colourful Easter Family Party, Inducts New Members and Trustees Presents N2.5m Restroom Project

The Ijesa Felates Club on Monday, April 6, 2026, held a vibrant Easter Family Party at its clubhouse in Omi Asoro, Ilesa, Osun State, featuring a mix of celebration, infrastructure development, and key organizational milestones.

The well-attended event brought together club members, trustees, associate members, and guests in a lively atmosphere, with music entertainment provided by DJ Timlex. Organizers described the gathering as a social celebration rather than a formal meeting, combining relaxation with significant club activities.

Proceedings began with an opening prayer led by Akin Akinwumi, followed by a welcome address by the Director General, Biodun Ogunbeku, who appreciated members and their spouses for their support and announced that the club would celebrate its 60th anniversary on August 7, 2026.

A major highlight of the event was the presentation of a newly completed N2.5 million restroom facility at the clubhouse. The project, executed by the associate members—comprising wives of club members—was officially unveiled to applause, reflecting the group’s contribution to improving the club’s infrastructure.

Ogunbeku also disclosed that the club had extended support to 16 widows of deceased members through gift presentations. He further acknowledged Rufus Jegede of Royal Farm for donating bottled palm oil in support of the event, while also introducing customized caps and vests ahead of the forthcoming 60th anniversary celebration.

The ceremony also featured the induction of five new members—Lufadeju Damola, Ojolo Segun, Adelekun Kayode, Adesuyi Dayo, and Seyo Aoko—conducted by Seun Adeniyi. Speaking on behalf of the inductees, Kayode Adelekun expressed appreciation and pledged their commitment to advancing the club’s objectives.

In addition, new trustees were formally invested by Kolawole Esan (SAN), with Chief Jibola Awoseyi and Prince Gbenga Lufadeju inaugurated into the roles. The investiture was followed by a photo session involving the trustees and their spouses.

Miss Iwude Ijesa, Judith Oyinade Adesoyin also addressed attendees, presenting her advocacy initiative on ovarian cancer awareness and stressing the need for increased health education among women.

The event featured interactive sessions with contributions from both associate and full members, alongside dining and social engagement.

In a related development, the Chief of Staff to His Imperial Majesty, Owa Clement Adesuyi Haastrup, Lady Dupe Ajayi Gbadebo, announced that the monarch has accepted to serve as the Royal Father of the club’s forthcoming 60th anniversary celebration. She also urged Ijesa entrepreneurs to actively support initiatives that would create employment opportunities for youths in the region.

The event concluded with closing remarks, a vote of thanks by the Secretary General, and final prayers, marking a memorable Easter celebration that combined festivity with impactful community development.
