Obeisun Accuses Pelumi Olajengbesi of Spreading Propaganda, Defends APC Leadership in Oriade

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oriade Local Government Area of Osun State, Hon. Olubunmi Obeisun Ezekiel, has condemned what he described as false and misleading information allegedly being circulated by Barrister Pelumi Olajengbesi, spokesperson to Governor Ademola Adeleke’s campaign committee.

Obeisun described the publication credited to Olajengbesi as unfortunate and politically motivated, alleging that it was deliberately designed to distort facts and mislead members of the public.

According to him, progressive-minded leaders and stakeholders across Oriade Local Government have expressed concern over what he termed the increasing spread of misinformation within the political space.

The APC stalwart stated that the development reflects the danger of entrusting political communication to individuals who, according to him, lack the competence and maturity required for constructive political engagement.

He maintained that politics should focus on issues, development, and policies capable of improving the lives of the people rather than personal attacks and campaigns aimed at discrediting political opponents.

Obeisun further accused Barrister Pelumi Olajengbesi of consistently engaging in criticism and propaganda instead of contributing meaningful ideas that could advance the interests of the people.

According to him, politics should be centred on service to humanity, democratic values, and developmental initiatives rather than bitterness and character assassination.

Speaking on the 2023 General Election, Obeisun alleged that Olajengbesi worked against the collective interest of Oriade and Ijebu-Ijesa people during the House of Representatives election in which the APC presented Seun Odofin as its candidate.

He claimed that some loyalists of the spokesperson allegedly attempted to downplay the political significance of Odofin’s candidacy by portraying him merely as a chieftaincy title holder despite what he described as the broader political implications of the contest for the region.

Obeisun expressed surprise that individuals he accused of acting against the interests of the people were now presenting themselves as defenders of justice and progress.

He, however, insisted that the people of Oriade are politically conscious and capable of identifying genuine leadership beyond propaganda and political opportunism.

The APC chieftain reaffirmed his commitment to the unity, growth, and continued success of the party in Osun State.

He also commended notable party leaders, including Alhaji Saliu Alubankudi, for what he described as their loyalty and steadfast commitment to the ideals and decisions of the APC.

According to him, collective dedication and unity among party members remain critical to the continued progress and electoral success of the party in the state.
