The Osun State All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship Campaign Council has congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his third anniversary in office, commending his administration for what it described as bold reforms and transformative leadership under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
In a statement issued on Friday by the Head of Media and Publicity Committee of the council, Engr. Oluremi Omowaiye, the APC campaign council praised President Tinubu for demonstrating courage and visionary leadership in addressing Nigeria’s economic and structural challenges.
The council particularly highlighted ongoing infrastructural projects across the country, including major federal road projects affecting Osun State, as evidence of the administration’s commitment to national development.
According to the statement, projects receiving attention under the Tinubu administration include the reconstruction of sections of the Ibadan-Ife-Ilesa Expressway, Osogbo-Akoda-Gbongan Road, Osogbo-Iwo-Ibadan Road, as well as the dualisation and rehabilitation of major federal highways aimed at improving transportation and boosting economic activities.
The APC campaign council stated that the projects were creating jobs, stimulating commerce, and strengthening regional integration across the country.
The statement further noted that increased federal allocations to states under President Tinubu’s administration had provided state governments with greater financial capacity to invest in infrastructure, agriculture, healthcare, and other developmental initiatives.
However, the council accused the Osun State Government under Governor Ademola Adeleke of failing to effectively utilize the increased allocations for the benefit of residents.
According to the APC council, resources meant for people-oriented projects were allegedly being diverted into ventures that do not directly impact the welfare of citizens.
The council also criticised the Adeleke administration’s spending priorities, alleging that about N92 billion had been spent on the Office of the Governor within three years, while only about N7 billion was allocated to the agriculture sector.
It argued that the spending pattern reflected a lack of commitment to addressing food security and economic challenges confronting ordinary residents of the state.
On security, the APC campaign council accused the state government of not doing enough to support security agencies despite receiving significant security votes.
The statement alleged that the Adeleke administration had failed to provide operational vehicles and logistics support for security agencies, contrasting it with the immediate past APC administration of former Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, which it claimed supplied security vehicles and equipment during its tenure.
The council further accused the state government of maintaining a confrontational relationship with security agencies, particularly the police, over issues relating to law enforcement and adherence to court judgments.
While reaffirming support for President Tinubu and the APC governorship candidate in Osun State, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebanji (AMBO), the council expressed confidence that Nigeria would continue to witness greater development and economic progress under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
The statement concluded with prayers for wisdom, strength, and divine guidance for President Tinubu as he continues to lead the country.
