Owa Clement Adesuyi Haastrup Passes Vote of Confidence in Iwude Ijesa Planning Committee





The Owa Obokun Adimula of Ijesaland, Owa Clement Adesuyi Haastrup, has expressed satisfaction with the performance of the Iwude Ijesa Unity Carnival Planning Committee, passing a vote of confidence in the team for its commitment and dedication towards the success of the cultural event.


Speaking during a meeting with members of the committee and prominent chiefs in attendance, the revered monarch commended the committee members for their efforts despite the fact that the Ijesa Unity Carnival is still at its formative stage.


Owa Haastrup noted that the committee had demonstrated remarkable commitment and coordination, urging members not to relent in their efforts but to continue working tirelessly to further elevate the carnival.


The monarch also pledged to leverage his personal connections to attract support from friends, associates and corporate organizations in order to strengthen and expand the carnival in future editions.


He further called on chiefs and stakeholders present at the gathering to offer useful advice and constructive suggestions that would contribute to the continued growth and success of the annual cultural celebration.


Responding on behalf of the chiefs, High Chief Afolabi Makanjuola, the Odole of Ijesaland praised the planning committee for its outstanding performance, particularly highlighting the impressive outing recorded during last year’s edition of the carnival.


According to him, the success achieved so far has made the Ijesa people proud, expressing confidence that the carnival would continue to grow into a major cultural and tourism event in the region.


Others chiefs in attendance were Olumelu Olabode Owofade; High Chief Olayinka Amos Ogungbemi, the Bajimo of Ilesa and Mr. Samuel Komolafe, the palace secretary.


The Iwude Ijesa Unity Carnival was initiated to promote unity, culture, tourism and socio-economic development across Ijesaland.


Committee members in attendance were Committee Chairman,Chief Afolabi Igbaroola; Vice Chairman, Alagba Wale Idowu; Mr. Bunmi Oladele; Erelu Adejumoke Olafadehan; Prince Isaac Haatrup; Oladimeji Lasore, Mrs Bunmi Ogunniyi, the secretary and Miss Judith Oyinade Adesoyin, the current Miss Ijesa 2025.
