Three Suspected Kidnappers Arrested Over Abduction of Cattle Rearer in Iloko-Ijesa




 


The Osun State Police Command has arrested three suspected members of an alleged inter-state kidnap syndicate linked to the abduction of a cattle rearer in the Iloko area of Ijebu-Jesa, Osun State.


The suspects were paraded on Tuesday during a press conference held at the Police Command Headquarters, Ring Road, Osogbo, by the Osun State Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Gotan.


According to the Commissioner of Police, the suspects were arrested in connection with the kidnapping incident that occurred on May 5, 2026.


The arrested suspects were identified as Umaru Adamu, Nasir Yahya, 21, and Umar Yahya, 24.


CP Gotan disclosed that operatives recovered a locally fabricated automatic gun and three live cartridges from the suspects during the operation.


He described the suspects as members of an inter-state kidnapping syndicate terrorising parts of the state and assured residents that the command remains committed to tackling criminal activities across Osun State.


The police boss further stated that investigations are ongoing to apprehend other fleeing members of the gang and ensure they are brought to justice.
