‎Joy as Rescued Oriire Abductees Reunite with Families After 56 Days in Captivity ‎

‎Tears of joy, heartfelt embraces, and songs of thanksgiving filled the air as the pupils, teachers, and other victims abducted from Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State were officially reunited with their families after spending 56 harrowing days in captivity.

‎The rescued victims were formally handed over to the Oyo State Government by the Nigerian Military at the Governor's Office, State Secretariat, Ibadan, following the completion of medical examinations, psychological evaluation, and trauma support.

‎The emotional reunion marked the end of weeks of fear and uncertainty for the victims and their loved ones, many of whom had never given up hope of seeing them alive again.

‎Governor Seyi Makinde welcomed the rescued victims back home and expressed profound gratitude to the Nigerian Armed Forces, other security agencies, the Amotekun Corps, and everyone who played vital roles in securing their freedom. He described the successful rescue as a testament to the courage, professionalism, and resilience of the security forces.

‎The governor assured the victims and their families that the Oyo State Government would continue to provide medical care, psychosocial support, rehabilitation, and every necessary assistance to help them recover from the traumatic experience and successfully reintegrate into their communities.

‎While the rescue has brought immense relief across Oyo State, the celebration is tempered by deep sorrow for those who did not survive the ordeal. The state joins their families in mourning the painful loss of their loved ones, whose lives were cut short before they could regain their freedom.

‎The government also paid tribute to the brave security personnel who made the ultimate sacrifice during the rescue operation, acknowledging that their courage and selflessness made the successful mission possible.

‎As the rescued pupils, teachers, and other victims begin the journey of healing, Oyo State has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening security across all communities to prevent similar tragedies and ensure the safety of residents.

‎The successful rescue has renewed hope and strengthened public confidence in the efforts of the nation's security agencies. It also serves as a reminder of the resilience of the human spirit and the importance of unity in the face of adversity.

‎For the rescued victims, their return home marks the beginning of a new chapter. For the families who lost loved ones, the pain remains immeasurable, but they can take comfort in the prayers and solidarity of an entire nation.

‎As Oyo State celebrates the safe return of the rescued victims, it also honours the memories of those who lost their lives and the heroes who sacrificed everything to make the rescue possible.

‎May the departed rest in perfect peace, may the injured find complete healing, and may the reunited families enjoy lasting peace and brighter days ahead.
