‎Renovated Building, TETFund Projects Feature at Adeleke's UNILESA Commissioning

‎Governor Ademola Adeleke on Tuesday commissioned a number of projects at the University of Ilesa (UNILESA), including a renovated Faculty of Law Annex and other infrastructure funded through the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund).

‎The Faculty of Law Annex, which observers say was originally constructed about two decades ago, underwent renovation before being commissioned during the governor's visit.

‎According to critics of the event, none of the projects commissioned was newly initiated or directly funded by the Osun State Government under the current administration. They argue that the projects were either renovations of existing structures or were executed with funding provided by TETFund, a Federal Government intervention agency that supports public tertiary institutions across Nigeria.

‎The commissioning has generated debate over the ownership and funding of public projects, with some stakeholders calling for greater transparency regarding the origin of projects presented during official ceremonies.

‎The development has also renewed discussions about funding for legal education at the university. Law students at UNILESA reportedly pay about ₦1.5 million per academic session in tuition and related fees, prompting some observers to question whether the level of infrastructure and investment at the institution reflects the financial commitment required of students.

‎Supporters of the state government, however, have maintained that completing, renovating, and putting educational infrastructure to public use is part of the administration's responsibility, regardless of the original source of funding.

‎The commissioning ceremony formed part of Governor Adeleke's official engagements in Ilesa and attracted government officials, university management, political leaders, and other stakeholders.
