‎Oriade LG Dominates Ijesa Tech Prize Oral Quiz as Olashore International School Emerges Champion ‎

‎Oriade Local Government Area reaffirmed its growing reputation as the citadel of digital education in Ijesaland on Friday as its schools dominated the grand finale of the Stage Two Oral Tech Quiz Competition of the maiden Ijesa Tech Prize 2026.

‎Hosted at the Ijesa Digital Hub, Oladele Olashore International School, Iloko-Ijesa, the highly competitive contest featured the 20 best-performing secondary schools drawn from the six local government areas of Ijesaland. The schools had emerged from an initial field of 65 participating schools following a written technology examination.

‎At the end of several keenly contested rounds that tested students' knowledge of technology, digital innovation, science, logical reasoning and emerging technologies, Oladele Olashore International School, Iloko-Ijesa, emerged overall winner with an outstanding performance.

‎The second position was also claimed by Christian Model School, Ijebu-Jesa, while Iloko Model School, Iloko-Ijesa, secured third place, completing a remarkable sweep for schools from Oriade Local Government Area.

‎The outcome underscored Oriade's growing status as the leading centre for digital education and technology-driven learning in Ijesaland. Producing all three top-performing schools in a competition involving institutions from across the six local government areas is widely regarded as a reflection of the quality of education, investment in technology, and commitment to academic excellence within the council area.

‎The competition, organised by the Ijesa Digital Hub under the Ijesa Tech Prize initiative, challenged participants on diverse areas of information technology, digital literacy, innovation, artificial intelligence, computing, internet safety, programming concepts and emerging technological trends.

‎Students displayed exceptional confidence, analytical ability throughout the competition, earning applause from educators, community leaders, parents and invited guests who witnessed the event.

‎Speaking at the competition, stakeholders commended the participating schools for their impressive performances and praised the Ijesa Digital Hub for creating a platform that inspires young people to embrace technology and innovation at an early stage.

‎They noted that beyond identifying winners, the Ijesa Tech Prize is helping to cultivate a new generation of digitally skilled young people who will be equipped to compete in the rapidly evolving global digital economy.

‎The organisers also described the overwhelming participation of schools in the maiden edition as evidence of the growing interest in technology education across Ijesaland, expressing optimism that subsequent editions would attract even greater participation.

‎The Oral Tech Quiz Competition forms the second stage of the Ijesa Tech Prize 2026, a flagship Digital Citizenship initiative designed to promote science, technology, innovation and digital skills among secondary school students across Ijesaland.

‎The competition will culminate in the Ijesa Tech Prize Awards Ceremony, where outstanding students and schools will receive cash prizes, training scholarships and school development awards in recognition of their exceptional performances.

‎For many observers, however, the biggest story from this year's competition was the outstanding dominance of Oriade Local Government Area, whose schools not only hosted the event but also swept the top three positions—further cementing the council's reputation as the emerging powerhouse of digital education, technological innovation and academic excellence in Ijesaland.
