Ten years ago, Ijesaland witnessed a significant moment in its history with the installation of Asiwaju Olayinka Fasuyi and Yeye Asiwaju Dr. Olubisi Fasuyi as the first Asiwaju and Yeye Asiwaju of Ijesaland.
A decade later, the story is much bigger than a title.
Fasuyi’s elevation as Asiwaju & Yeye-Asiwaju of Ijesaland by the late Oba Adekunle Aromolaran II at the commissioning of the new Owa Palace.
It is a story of ideas that became initiatives, challenges that demanded solutions, people who came together, resources that were mobilised and communities that benefited.
But how much of that story do we really remember?
From today, (October 1) to October 21, KAKAKIOODUA Online Media will take you on a remarkable journey through 25 documented milestones drawn from a decade of service, impact and development advocacy in Ijesaland.
Every milestone is another chapter.
And behind every chapter is a story of vision, intervention, collaboration, sacrifice, persistence and collective action.
Some stories may remind you of challenges Ijesaland once faced.
Some may reveal interventions you witnessed but never knew the full story behind.
Some may introduce you to initiatives whose impact continues to unfold.
And some may make you ask:
“How did this happen?”
That is precisely why we are telling the story.
For 21 days, we will open the pages one after another. From the first to the twenty-fifth, we will examine the ideas, interventions, partnerships and people behind a decade of community-focused service.
Then, on October 22, the individual stories will come together in a special 10th Anniversary Roundup, celebrating the decade-long journey of Asiwaju Olayinka Fasuyi and Yeye Asiwaju Dr. Olubisi Fasuyi.
