Osun APC Dismisses Parallel Tinubu Campaign Council Reports, Reaffirms Support for Adeleke for Tinubu's 2nd Term Re-election

The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed reports that it has set up a separate presidential campaign committee in the state, saying it remains committed to working with Governor Ademola Adeleke to secure victory for President Bola Tinubu in 2027.

The party said the campaign structure led by its 2026 governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, was created to handle parliamentary elections and was not meant to compete with the presidential campaign council.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the party's Director of Media and Information, Mogaji Kola Olabisi, said there was no need to create another presidential campaign committee because Governor Adeleke had already been appointed as the state coordinator of Tinubu's re-election campaign.

The APC praised Adeleke for accepting the responsibility of leading the campaign to secure more than 1.5 million votes for Tinubu.

It also said the rally held last Saturday at Nelson Mandela Park, Osogbo, showed the party's readiness to work with the governor towards Tinubu's re-election.

The party appealed to those trying to create division within the group to stop actions that could cause trouble and weaken their cooperation. It said the working relationship had continued to produce positive results.

The APC also made it clear that Oyebamiji remained the Director-General of its parliamentary campaign council. His duty is to mobilise support for APC candidates seeking seats in the National Assembly and State House of Assembly.

The party added that Oyebamiji was also helping to tell Nigerians about Tinubu's achievements ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

Meanwhile, the APC thanked members of its State Executive Committee who raised concerns over the omission of most of their names from the list of Oyebamiji-led campaign council members shared on social media on Tuesday.

According to the party, only four out of the 35 state executive members were reportedly included in the list.

The APC said the complaints showed that the affected members were willing to take part in the activities of the parliamentary campaign council.

The party maintained that there was no plan to run a separate presidential campaign structure in Osun State, stressing the need for unity and cooperation among its members ahead of the 2027 general elections.
