After Five Years of Vacant Stool, Iloko Ijesa Gets New Owaloko

Iloko Ijesa a town in Oriade Local Government Area of Osun State on 14th August 2017 installed it’s HRM Oba Akeem Ogungbamigbe Saloro – Owaloko of Iloko Ijesa as it’s new monarch.

It would be recalled that the stool of the Owaloko of Iloko Ijesa became vacant following the demise of Oba Oladele Olashore (CON), at a London Hospital in June,2012.

The delay in installing a new Owaloko was evidently due to a long search for who can wear the big shoes that the late Oba Oladele Olashore, Ajagbusi Ekun left behind.

Oba Olashore was a great lover of education as easily attested to by his proprietorship of the now renowned Olashore International School. But lesser known but probably of greater impact was his establishment of Iloko Model College, a truly model school that has established its credentials with the outstanding performance of its students in national examinations. Iloko Model College is meant for the less financially endowed members of the community but is of the highest quality.

The late Oba Oladele Olashore also opened up Iloko Ijesa to hospitality business by establishing Royal Park Hotel is a 3 star standard hotel, located iloko-ijesa, Osun state, Nigeria. The hotel has a total number of 89 rooms with 4 different category of rooms, ranging from the Oduduwa suite, Classic suite, Executive twin and Classic room. Part of the hotel's facility is a free Wi-Fi for in-house guest and a banquet hall that can accomodate up to 800 people at a go.The living spring banquet hall is most suitable for wedding receptions, launching, parties and conference for large participants. Also the oduduwa suite is a world standard Chairman suite. the suite has a twin bedroom with an exquisitely furnished living room, with a Jacuzzi bath in the master bedroom. Infront of the hotel is a football pitch of NFF standard, for club training and also for keeping fit. Adjacent to the hotel is the famous Olashore International School, owned by the Ajagbusi Ekun, Oba Oladele Olashore.

Most important in Oba Oladele Olashore influence on the development of Iloko Ijesa was is undaunted efforts at luring sons and daughters of Iloko Ijesa to build befitting homes at home.

The enthronement of Owaloko of Iloko-Ijesa in Oriade Local Government Area of Osun State has begun with the installation of Prince Akeem Benjamin Ogunbangbe as the Saloro-Owaloko by the Iloko-Ijesa Traditional Council.

The chieftaincy title is the highest in the ancient town and it is exclusive to those confirmed to be monarchs in Iloko-Ijesa.

At a ceremony at a sacred place called Ile-Ase, the traditional dicing of kola nut was done while the traditional cleansing was conducted with salt.

The Owaloko-elect visited sacred places as he moved round the town.

Ogunbangbe had a stop-over at Idi-Aragba tower, which he circumvented seven times.

The action attracted jubilation among the residents who had waited for the occasion for about five years.

We wish the new Owaloko a successful reign. ..
