PROUDLY IJESA: A Breakfast Get together Bash with Prof. Foluso Okunmadewa and His Family

Christmas festive time is the best time to lookout for in Ilesa. It is the busiest time for our friends and family. The festivity usually kick off with the Iwude Ijesa festival that preceds the Christmas day celebration proper. The city of Ilesa usually burst to live that can be compared to Ikeja, Lagos as from the 20th of December of every year as one can observe that the city doesn't sleep. Shopping activities at the central Ereja square continue all night as commuters and fun seekers are active 24 hours round the clock. All sorts of things are going on and entertaining time can be abound.

Prominent Ijesa elites have days to entertain their folks and friends in a grand style creating the chance to catch up with old friends, make new ones and establish a contact for a new year to come. Chief Akin. Akinola erstwhile Director of the popular International Breweries has a date, so are  Engr. Yemi Oguntominiyi, Hon. Idowu Korede, Col. All to mention just a few.

So when I received the invitation (though not from the host) to attend the breakfast get together hosted by Prof. Foluso Okunmadewa at his Omi Eran residence, I normally looked up to meeting the new generation Ijesa elites and I was not disappointed, it was a roll call of who is who in Ijesaland. Chief Akinola was the father of the day, Prof. Isaac Adewole (Minister for Health) was the guest speaker, Hon. Ajibola Famurewa was a guest, Prof. Kolawole Kazeem,  Prof Biyi Daramola former VC FUTA Akure. Col Dr. Akin Moses. Loja Dr. Haststrup and wife Rakeeha  Hastrup Justice of Federal High Court. Dr. Oladimeji Alo former DG FITC Lagos,  Chief and Mrs Bosun Falore Propietors of Mind  Builders Lagos, Mr. Dosu Gidigbi, Alhaji Azees Adesiji, Mr. Seyi Ogundipe, Mrs. Kofo Omole, Hon. Onigbogi, Hon. Dosu Babatunde, Chief. Afolabi Igbaroola, Engr. Remi Omowaiye, Engr. Yemi Oguntominiyi, Barrister Oluwole,  Iyamu, Pastor and Prof. (Mrs.) Amos Adetunji from LAUTHEC, Ogbomosho and General Managers of Community and Social Development Agencies of Osun. Ekiti and Kwara State. Just to mention some names.

Something caught my fancy at the breakfast get together. It was an occasion set aside by the family of Prof. Foluso Okunmadewa to thank God for the year that is rolling out and share the words of God with their guests. So, songs of praises were sung, testimonies were shared. We prayed for Nigeria. Osun State. Ijesaland and our families. We also  prayed for God's leading into 2018. Gifts were given out to the children achieving a landmark like graduating from the university or getting married and there was a sumptuous breakfast for everyone.
