PHOTONEWS: ATC Nigeria Wireless Infrastructure Limited Donates ICT Training Centre to Ilesa Community

 ATC Nigeria Wireless Infrastructure Limiteds an independent owner and operator of shared wireless infrastructure that has recently commenced business in Nigeria in its objective to  make wireless communication possible anywhere in the country has donated a Computer Training Centres to Osun government. The centres are in Ikirun, Iwo, Ila-Orangun, Ede and Ilesa.

Yesterday, Thursday the 12th of July, 2018 witnessed the handing over of the training centres to the various communities.

Lasore Oladimeji Blog was invited to witness the handing over of the centre to Ilesa community and we bring you this report.

The Ilesa training center is located at the premises of the MTN mast of Ilaje Fagbola-Ilaje in Ilesa West ward 7.

The opening ceremony was performed by Sen. Mudasiru Hussain, who represented the state Governor, Ogbeni Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola in the presence of Osun Commissioner for Science Innovation and Technology, Engr. Oluremi Omowaiye, staff of his ministry, community heads and Ilesa West Local Government parliamentarians and officials that included the leader of the House, the Deputy Leader of the House, the Council Manager, the Special Adviser to the governor on Innovation, Science and Technology.

In his short speech at the handing over ceremony, Engr. Oluremi Omowaiye explained that the project is going to be used for e-learning and the government has the intention of training about one thousand local youth to become expert in the area of computer programming. He expressed that the state of Osun is lucky because she is one of the first states that is benefitting from this largesse from the ATC Nigeria Wireless Infrastructure Limited. He expressed his confidence that Ilesa community is one of the stronghold of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and he has the assurance that the party shall return to power thus the project can be sustained. He assured the representatives of the donor that the community is going to do the best to preserve the project while highlighting that the community, the local government and the state government are all involved.

The representative of the donor expressed her happiness at giving back to the society which the ATC Nigeria Wireless Infrastructure Limited does passionately by helping to improve the ICT skills of the youth in the community where they operate. She implored the community to take good care and optimum advantage of the project noting that the company will be back in two months time to see how the community is making use of the project.
