Messages of Congratulation for Oyetola at OSHA Plenary






The State of Osun House of Assembly (OSHA) has dedicated the proceedings of it plenary of Tuesday 9th July 2019 to congratulating the executive governor of the State of Osun, Mr. Isiaka Oyetola for his affirmation as the governor duly elected to run the affairs of the State of Osun in the next four years due to the supreme court verdict delivered on Friday the 5th of July.

The OSHA Speaker, Rt. Hon. Timothy Owoeye setting the ball rolling before other legislators from various State constituencies followed suit congratulated Governor Gboyega Oyetola and all the good people of the State, the elderly at home and everyone for the success recorded at the judgement delivered in the favour of the APC.  He assured the good people of Osun that the confirmation of Governor Gboyega Oyetola will surely bring good things to the state as he saluted the courage and uprightness of the judiciary despite the intimidation and campaign by the opposition..

The Speaker also congratulated the leaders in the APC staring from Asiwaju Bola Hamed Tinubu, Baba Bisi Akande Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola and all the party leaders across the state and Nigeria for their unwavering suppor for the State of Osun governor and for the party. He did not fail to appreciate the INEC, the legal team of the APC and he assured the good people of Osun that OSHA will continue to give necessary support and collaboration to the government of Ogbeni Gboyega Oyetola.

"I appreciate everybody, even outside the APC, I want to appeal to them to embrace peace and continue to maintain the peaceful coexistence in this state. And to give necessary support to the government of the day. God has spoken, it is beyond human reasoning, appealed to all the parties to rally round the government to make sure that it take State of Osun to the next level. All the members of the OSHA are ready to work towards the progress and development of the State." Rt. Hon. Owoeye said.

Deputy Speaker, Hon. Femi Popoola, representing Boripe/Boluwaduro state constituency in his contribution described Friday 5th July as a very great day in Osun. In his words, "the judicial authority put a stop on the exploit of the PDP and it's gubernatorial candidate by pronouncing Governor Gboyega Oyetola as the authentic and bonafide winner of Osun 2018 governorship election. The three arms of government, the Executive, Legislative and the Judiciary will now be focused to pursue the enviable programs of the state government."

The legislator representing Olorunda State constituency Hon. Kunle Akande who is also the Deputy Majority Leader described the victory as an attestation of the rule of law and a victory for the people of the state. He likened the judgement to a clear indication that there is hope in the judiciary describing the spontaneous reaction that greeted the judgement as an attestation to the fact that the governor is widely accepted by the people.

Hon. Babatunde Ibirogba representing Egbedore state constituency who is also the senatorial whip for Osun West, appealed for the support of the opposition referring to what Oyetola said that his government is not the government of the APC but fall all and sundry. "They should see themselves as partners in progress so that the dividends of democracy will be delivered to all nooks and crannies of the state." He said.

Other legislators the made contributions are, Hon. Gbenga Ogunkanmi,  Hon. Hadirullai Adegbile, Hon Halil Uzamot,  Hon. Adekunle Oyekunle,  Hon. Taofeek Badamosi,  Hon. Nasir Olateju,  Hon. Mulikat Abiola, Hon. Adebisi Jayeola,  Hon. Elizabeth Abioye,  Hon Desmond Ojo,  Hon. Adewumi Adeyemi,  Hon. Olajide Adeyeye, Hon. Tunde Olatunji and Hon. Benjamin Ogundipe.

Present at the Assembly's public gallery were members of the joint Sacred Cherubim and Seraphim Church of Nigeria who had engaged in fervent prayer for the success of the government and the Supreme court judgement.
