Aregbesola Gives Directives on Preemptive Measures to Prevent Spread of COVID-19 in Custodian Centres





Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola the Nigeria Minister of Interior has directed Correctional Department of his Ministry to take preemptive measures to avoid spread of Covid-19 in Custodial Centers across the country.

 As of 21/3/2020, there is no single case of Corona Virus amongst the Staff and Inmates.

The directives mentioned that any group visit that would involve gathering of inmates together for any form of ceremony is hereby put on hold till further notice.

Also, visits by sick visitors are hereby disallowed till further notice. Staff must avoid body contact with inmates in the course of duty, however, if it cannot be avoided, the staff must wear hand gloves and face mask.

Medical and health officers are that are at alert always are to withdraw any sick inmate for screening and possible isolation at the designated isolation unit in each Custodial Centre.
