Abba Kyari Passes On; Read what prominent Nigerians say

The Nigerian president’s chief of staff, Abba Kyari, died on Friday 17th of April, 2020 in Lagos after contracting Covid-19.

Kyari, who was in his 70s and had underlying health problems, including diabetes, was the top official aide to 77-year-old President Muhammadu Buhari.

According to the Personal Assistant to the President on New Media, Malam Bashir Ahmed, the CoS to the President Buhari is the most misunderstood person in the history of Nigeria m

In what appears to be tributes to Late Abba Kyari, prominent Nigerians have sent out messages on their Twitter page.

Here are some reactions:

@Bashir Ahmaad, a presidential aide also described the deceased as a man of honour, who sacrificed his life for Nigeria.

House of Oduduwa under the leadership of the Arole Oodua Olofin Adimula, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, Ooni of Ife, received news of the death of Alhaji Abba Kyari with a rude shock and he sees it as a very unfortunate surprise.

“Late Abba Kyari was a detribalized Nigerian and coolheaded fine gentleman who had treated traditional institutions with love and respect and who had until his death undoubtedly dignified public service as Chief of Staff with dignity and dedication motivated by his fervent belief in and incorruptible patriotism to the Nigerian project.

Sen. Ekweremadu joined other well-meaning Nigerians in mourning the late Chief of Staff.

Ekweremadu, took to his Twitter handle, @iamekweremadu to express deep sadness and heartfelt condolences to Kyari’’s immediate family, President Mohamadu Buhari, and the entire Presidency, also prayed God to grant the soul of the deceased eternal repose.

He said: “I am deeply saddened by the news of the passing on of the Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, Mallam Abba Kyari.

Former Aviation Minister, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, phones in to condole with Presidency on passage of Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari. A great lesson for those who rejoice in evil. Fani-Kayode is morbidly anti-Buhari, but human enough to express his condolence.
